Our History
It is a pleasure to present a brief reflection on the beginnings of our church, Fountain of Life Apostolic Church in Miami.
In May of 1980, after completing my studies at the Bible College of the United Pentecostal Church in Buenos Aires, Argentina, I received a special gift from my fiancée, Sara: the Scofield Study Bible. This gift, however, held more than just printed words—it contained a dedication that would forever change my life. With carefully written letters, Sara inscribed the words of Psalm 138:8, thoughtfully changing the pronoun “me” to “us”:
“Psalm 138:8 – The Lord will fulfill His purpose for us.”
That Bible, worn from nearly twenty years of constant use, became a living testament of God’s divine plan for me, for us as a family, as pastors, and as leaders. Every page, every verse, echoed the purpose that God had reserved for our lives.

From the moment of my conversion to our arrival in Miami, every step was marked by the hand of God. Every challenge, every problem, every triumph led us inevitably toward the fulfillment of His master plan.
In September of 1985, Pastor Julio Rocha—a Nicaraguan minister—arrived in Washington, D.C. with news that stirred our hearts and redirected our path toward a new destiny. The urgent need at the National Bible College in Nicaragua awakened in me an unshakable missionary zeal. With Sara’s unwavering support, I departed for Nicaragua in April of 1986, carrying a generous offering and a heart eager to serve.
However, an unexpected turn in Miami changed the course of our journey. A passport issue forced me to stop in the city, where we were welcomed by warm and loving brothers and sisters. What began as an inconvenient delay turned into a divinely orchestrated encounter. That night, in the home of Sister Graciela Rocha (daughter of Pastor Rocha), we experienced a powerful move of the Spirit—an encounter that would seal our destiny with Miami.
After a brief stay in Nicaragua, we returned to the United States with a clear calling resonating in our hearts. Though we initially resisted, the voice of God was unmistakable. With the support of our pastor and congregation in Washington, D.C., we ventured to Miami in April of 1987, with our daughters and a renewed passion for the ministry awaiting us.
The early years in Miami tested our faith and perseverance. From humble home gatherings to exponential growth in a shopping center in Hialeah Gardens, each step was guided by divine providence and the passionate dedication of the community.
In December of 1990, after months of hard work and sacrifice, we acquired the building that would become our spiritual home—Fountain of Life Apostolic Church. As we recall the names and faces that have shaped our story, we honor the legacy of faith and sacrifice that has brought us to this point.
Today, with deep gratitude and humility, we look to the future with confidence that the flame of the Holy Spirit will continue to burn in our community. May the apostolic banner continue to wave in Miami, bringing hope and transformation to all who seek the truth and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Es un placer presentarles una breve reseña de lo que fue el comienzo de nuestra Iglesia Fuente de Vida en Miami.
En mayo de 1980, tras finalizar mis estudios en el Colegio Bíblico de la Iglesia Pentecostal Unida en Buenos Aires, Argentina, recibí un regalo especial de mi novia Sara: la Biblia de Estudio de Scofield. Este presente, sin embargo, guardaba más que simples palabras; contenía una dedicatoria que cambiaría mi vida. Con letras meticulosamente diseñadas, Sara escribió las palabras del Salmo 138:8, alterando sabiamente el pronombre "mi" por "nosotros"

Aquella Biblia, desgastada por casi 20 años de uso constante, se convirtió en un testamento vivo del plan divino para mí y para nosotros como familia, pastores y líderes. Cada página, cada versículo, resonaba con el propósito que Dios tenía reservado para nuestras vidas.
Desde mi conversión hasta nuestra llegada a Miami, cada paso estuvo marcado por la mano de Dios. Cada desafío, cada problema, cada triunfo, nos condujo inexorablemente hacia el cumplimiento de su plan maestro.
En septiembre de 1985, el pastor Julio Rocha (un pastor nicaragüense) llegó a Washington DC con noticias que sacudirían nuestros corazones y dirigirían nuestro camino hacia un nuevo destino.La necesidad urgente en el Colegio Bíblico Nacional de Nicaragua despertó en mí un fervor misionero imposible de ignorar. Con el apoyo inquebrantable de Sara, partí hacia Nicaragua en abril de 1986, llevando conmigo una ofrenda generosa y un corazón ansioso por servir.
Sin embargo, un giro inesperado en Miami cambió el rumbo de nuestro viaje. Un problema con mi pasaporte me obligó a detenerme en esta ciudad, donde fuimos recibidos por hermanos y hermanas cálidos y acogedores. Lo que comenzó como una escala forzada se convirtió en un encuentro divinamente orquestado. Aquella noche, en la casa de la hermana Graciela Rocha (hija del pastor Rocha), experimentamos un mover del Espíritu que sellaría nuestro destino con Miami.
Tras nuestra breve estadía en Nicaragua, regresamos a los Estados Unidos con un llamado resonando en nuestros corazones. Aunque inicialmente resistimos, la voz de Dios era ineludible. Con el respaldo de nuestro pastor y congregación en Washington DC, nos aventuramos hacia Miami en abril de 1987, con nuestras hijas y un fervor renovado por el ministerio que nos esperaba.
Los primeros años en Miami fueron una prueba de fe y perseverancia. Desde humildes reuniones en casas particulares hasta el crecimiento exponencial en un centro comercial en Hialeah Gardens, cada paso fue guiado por la providencia divina y la entrega apasionada de la comunidad.
En diciembre de 1990, después de intensos meses de trabajo y sacrificio,
adquirimos el edificio que se convertiría en nuestro hogar espiritual, la Iglesia Apostólica Fuente de Vida. A medida que recordamos los nombres y rostros que han dado forma a nuestra historia, reconocemos el legado de fe y sacrificio que nos ha traído hasta aquí.
Hoy, con profunda gratitud y humildad, miramos hacia el futuro con la confianza de que la llama del Espíritu Santo continuará ardiendo en nuestra comunidad. Que la bandera apostólica siga ondeando en Miami, llevando esperanza y transformación a todos los que buscan la verdad y la gracia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
